The Foundation al-Kataib Media, the official media channel of the Somali jihadist group Harakt al-Shabaab al-Mujaheddin, published a statement and over 90 photos to vindicate and show the violent attack conducted on Saturday morning, August 26 against three military bases of the Somali special forces and the pro-government militias in the city of Osweni in the state of Galgaduud, central Somalia.
Al-Shabaab’s military operation began with a suicide attack via VBIED that resulted in an explosion, followed by direct attacks on bases by jihadist fighters.
The photos show dozens of military vehicles seized and burned, numerous corpses, parts of the military bases, and numerous weapons and ammunition seized.
