On 26 August, Ansar al-Tawhid, a Syrian jihadist group operating in north-west Syria, conducted a very violent attack in cooperation with other jihadist groups, Tavhid vo Jihad Uzbek and Jaysh al-Muhajireen wal Ansar, with the supervision and logistical support of the “Al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room” of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), the Syrian regime’s military camp run on the al-Malajah axis in the Jabal al-Zawiya area, south-west of Idlib governorate.

It is important to remember that Ansar al-Tawhid is an independent jihadist group (formerly affiliated with the Qaeidist Hurras al-Din operations room), which decided to accept the military rules of the HTS and adapt to the logistical directions of its operations room about seven months ago.

After the operation, the jihadist groups managed to take control of the al-Malajah hills.

Ansar al-Tawhid was tasked with defending the captured positions and continuing to strike the Syrian government army and its allies in the area, Hezbollah militias, and Russian military personnel.
